The MPL-B660F-MJ22AA servo motor is a servo motor designed and manufactured by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. The MPL-B660F-MJ22AA servo motor does not feature a shaft seal. As such, the servo motor has an ingress protection rating of IP 50. However, a shaft seal is required if the servo motor is going to be operated in environments that are prone to fluids, fine dust, or any other substance that is capable of affecting the operation of the servo motor’s front bearing. When a shaft seal is installed, the MPL-B660F-MJ22AA servo motor has an international protection rating of IP 66. However, for the IP 66 protection rating to be achieved, the servo motor needs to be used with environmentally sealed cables and connectors. Note that the manufacturer does not recommend the use of an additional shaft seal if the motor is intended to be mounted, installed, and operated in environments that do not pose a risk to the motor shaft.
