Important  Safety   Considerations

In  addition  to  the  instructions  throughour  this  document, you  are  also  responsible  for  the  following:

  •  Complete   a   machine-level   risk   assessment.
  •  Certificationof  themachine  to  the  desired  EN  ISO   13849  performance  level  or  EN   62061   SIL  level.
  •  Projcct   management   and   proof  testing   in   accordance   with   EN61800-5-2.
  •  The   safe-motor  feedback   system  hasamaximum  Mission  Time  of  20  years.After  this  time,the   feedback  system  must  be  taken  out  of service.
  • The motorfedbacksystem cannor supporr safety functions thar are basedon theabsolute position withouradditional measures. In thecase of  safety  functions  that   are  based   on  the   safe   absolute  position, the  motor   feedback  system  supplies  only  one  channel  without   safety-related diagnostics  upon  powerup.You  must  implement  a  second  channel  by  using  other  measures.
  • The  motor  feedbacksystemis  not  able  to  create  a  safe  state  for  the  drive  system  independently. The  drive  system  creates  the  safe  state  as  a response  to  an  error  displayed  by  the  motor  feedback  system.
  •  To  planand  usemotors   equipped  with   safety-rated  feedback  sensors  requires  technical   skills  that   are  not   explained  in  this   document
